- 1992-1999 Studied Jewish Studies, Islamic Studies and History in Cologne and Jerusalem.
- 1999-2009 Research assistant at the Martin Buber Institute for Jewish Studies in Cologne
- 2005 Doctorate (Dr phil.) at the University of Cologne on the subject of "Maimonides' Commentary on the Aphorisms of Hippocrates"
