Do I need knowledge of the Greek language(Graecum)?

Yes, if you are studying to become a GYM/GE teacher (Gymnasium/Gesamtschule), you will need the Graecum and the Latinum or Hebraicum in the Master's programme. This knowledge can already be acquired in the BA programme.

No, if you are studying to become a BK (Berufskolleg), G (Grundschule) or HRGe (Haupt-Real-Gesamtschule) teacher.

Where can I learn Greek?

In what form should term papers and presentations be submitted?
Both printed and electronically. See guidelines for term papers

How much time do I need to allow for the correction of assignments ?
Teachers need at least 4 weeks to correct assignments.

May I use texts from the Internet?
Yes, if no other sources can be found. However, internet sources must be labelled as such and the original source must be cited, including the date.

 

Do I have to be confirmed in order to receive the Vocatio?
No. Further information can be obtained from the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland

Where do I get my teaching licence (Vocatio)?
The regional church is responsible for issuing the teaching licence (Vocatio). You can download an information sheet here.

How is the total number of credit points for a module calculated?
From the credit points of the individual courses plus the points for the final module examination.

Is it possible to earn only the credit points intended for a course that can lead to a final module examination?
Yes, as long as there is an alternative course for this course that also leads to a final module examination.

What happens if I achieve too many credit points in a module?
In this case, the number of points in the course with the lowest grade will be reduced accordingly by the respective module coordinator.

Is it possible to attend more than the scheduled courses in a module?
Yes.

How many credit points does a module comprise?
You will find this information on the respective module sheet and in the module overview of the examination regulations.

How many credit points are awarded for the final module examination?
This information can be found on the respective module overview in the examination regulations.

Is it possible to take courses from Modules III to VI in the first semester? Yes.

At what point can I take the final module examination (MAP) in a module?
At the end of the course in which the MAP is scheduled. This does not have to be the last course of the module.

Does the final module examination (MAP) relate to the specific course in which it is written, or is it a general examination on the module? The MAP refers to the specific course.

Where can I get a registration form for the final module examination, which can only be repeated to a limited extent? From the central examinations office.

By when do I have to have completed a module?
Ideally after two semesters. In individual cases, however, it may take longer without any formal disadvantages.

Where can I find a sample exam?
The tutor has a sample exam.

Where can I view my examination results?
If it is a final module examination, it can be viewed at the Examinations Office or in your StudiLöwe account. Other exams, assignments or similar can be collected from Mrs Wilmes in the secretary's office (O.10.41).

When do I have to register an examination with the Examinations Office?
At the latest four weeks before the examination date, but only if it is an exam with limited retakeability (MAP).

What language skills do I need for BA? None.

In which case do I need additional language skills for BA?
If you wish to continue your studies on a Master's degree programme with the aim of teaching at grammar schools and comprehensive schools, you will need the Graecum as well as the Latinum or Hebraicum. We recommend acquiring these language skills in the first semesters of the BA programme.

If I am unable to attend a course due to force majeure (strike, traffic jam, weather, etc.), am I automatically excused?
No. In the case of a course with compulsory attendance, a written or verbal apology to the lecturer is required.

What is an attempt to deceive?

An attempt to deceive is, among other things, the insertion of text or data passages into a work declared as independent without recognising these passages and without naming the original source.
